"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6 NIV
Our children and youth are an integral part of the body of Christ at the Driftless Regional Ministry churches. Our mission is to uplift children, help them see Jesus and have a relationship with Him. We seek to provide appropriate programming for all ages whether they are toddlers or teens! We hope and pray that we are able to equip each child in our care to be able to share their faith and gifts to the glory of God, in a safe and secure environment, while assisting them in their transition to the broader faith community within the Driftless Regional Ministry and the world.
Sunday School Classes
During our Sunday School classes, your children will build the foundations of their faith and start growing in their own personal relationship with the Lord. All four churches in the Driftless Regional Ministry have Sunday School classes throughout the traditional school year (September through May), however each class is different. We encourage you to pick a Sunday School that will be right for your child, where they can get the best start in their life-long journey of loving and worshiping the Lord! For more information on the Sunday School classes at each church, check out the information below!
Held during our Sunday morning worship service at 9:30 a.m., the Sunday School program at the Faith UMC follows a One-Room School model bringing together children of all ages. Class ends as the worship service comes to a close around 10:30 a.m. All children, even visitors, are welcome to come and take part in the Sunday School. For more information on this Sunday School program, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Held during the joint 8 a.m. Sunday morning worship service, the Sunday School program for the New Hope & Retreat churches follows a One-Room School model bringing together children of all ages. Lessons are generally based off of the scripture and sermon from the service so that the children and adults can talk about what they learned at home as a family. Class ends as the worship service comes to a close around 9 a.m. allowing the children to partake in the fellowship time following the service. All children, even visitors, are welcome to come and take part in the Sunday School. For more information on this Sunday School program, please contact us at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Westby UMC offers a youth Sunday school program from the middle of September to the middle of May and starts at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings. This program is for children ages 3 and up. Currently, our youth Sunday school program is like a one-room school house, and our Sunday school teacher does a variety of projects with the youth. We focus on fun activities to learn about God’s love for us and what following Him means through:
- Bible Points, Object Lessons, Scripture
- Serving Others - Outreach to Nursing Homes, Community and Operation Christmas Child
- Games and Crafts
- Music, Children's Worship, Prayer
For more information on the Sunday School program at the Westby UMC, please reach out to us during our Sunday worship service or feel free to send us an e-mail at email@example.com.
Vacation Bible School
At various time each summer, our churches host Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs to introduce our area children to Jesus Christ and help them grow in a relationship with him. Each VBS program generally has a different theme to make the experience inviting and fun for the youth. Check back here as summer nears for upcoming VBS options at our churches and information on how to sign up your children!
We are currently in the planning phase of bringing this ministry to our area youth. This Youth Group will invite area middle and high school students to come for a time of relaxation, discussion on relevant topics to today's teens, and fun activities. More information will be coming as this group becomes established, so check back soon! For more information on our coming youth group or to ask how you can help, reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
