If you are a resident of southwestern Vernon or northwestern Crawford Counites and are in need of food assistance, you are welcome to come and utilize our food pantry.

How often can I come to the pantry?

You may come to the food pantry monthly.  However, we will never turn anyone away if they need items again during the month.

What is the procedure for accessing the pantry?

When you come to seek food assistance, we ask that you follow this procedure:

*  Drive to the back of the New Hope Methodist Church and park by the back door/food pantry door.
*  Either knock on the door or call us at (608) 648-2644 and a volunteer will come to assist you and help fulfill your food assistance needs.
*  You will be served in the order of arrival, so please be patient.
If you are ill, please stay home and call the food pantry at (608) 648-2644 and we will deliver your food assistance to your home.

What kinds of food will I receive?

We provide common food staples: canned vegetables, fruit, soup, rice, beans, pasta, etc. as well as fresh produce during the summer months.  We also provide frozen beef, pork, chicken, eggs, fresh potatoes and onions.  In addition to food, we also have paper products and other household items on hand.  We really do have a pretty wide variety.

May I send someone else to pick up my food?

Absolutely!  If you are having someone else pick up your items for you, please let us know in advance!  This assures us that you are actually going to receive the items that are being taken.  If you are unable to make it to the food pantry, we also deliver, if needed, to homes in the De Soto area on the fourth Thursday of the month.
