Our Crafting Hands Ministry brings together individuals who enjoy using the talents and skills that God has given them to bless others in our community. We are blessed to have several groups within our churches that generally meet monthly to plan, create, and share the beautiful creations that they are working on.  At the same time, they take the opportunity to support each other in their faith and enjoy fellowship with one another. Their creations welcome, invite, inspire, and provide comfort for those who receive them. In the past, our crafters have created beautiful quilts, prayer shawls, handmade cards, and Baskets of Love to name a few. Our crafters also collect items and make kits each year for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center, utilizing their crafting hands to bring relief to those impacted by disasters.

The Church Basement Quilters meet in the basement of the Liberty Pole Methodist Church to work on a variety of fabric-based ministry projects, both large and small. During our sessions, we frequently share ideas, hints, patterns, and words of encouragement. We know that the work (which is play to us), brings comfort and warmth to others. We feel very blessed to share our God-given talents with the surrounding community. The West Retreat Prairie Quilters is a joint ministry of the Retreat Methodist Church and the North West Prairie Lutheran Church.   If you are interested in learning to quilt, or want to learn how to construct a basic quilt, this group is for you!  Bring a lunch, your sewing machine, scraps, and whatever sewing supplies you might need and let’s get to work! Cutting mats, iron, ironing board will be available. We generally meet twice a month at the Retreat Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome to come and join in the fun!  Please check our events calendar for meeting dates and make plans to join us for a fun time!
