Called to Serve, Called to Love
Many people believe that being “called” by God to serve others is something reserved only for pastors, missionaries, or other church leaders. We believe God has personally called, gifted, equipped, and empowered every believer to serve one another through various forms.
Jesus Christ showed us by example that we are all called to serve others on the night of the Last Supper. As recalled in John 13:12-17, after Jesus had washed his disciples' feet, he asked them “Do you understand what I have done for you? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
Within the Driftless Ministries, we have many opportunities through which you can serve fellow believers and the surrounding community. We invite you to browse the opportunities below. Come and get involved alongside us in service to others!

Opportunities to Serve the Church and the Community
Hospitality Team
Our churches are places where people can feel safe, comfortable, and welcome. A huge part of that is thanks to the first smiling faces that meet you when you enter our doors! Our hospitality team is made up of wonderful individuals who greet people at the door and answer any questions people might have. They also welcome our guests by handing out programs and other information, offering coffee and treats, and receiving the offering on Sunday mornings. Being a part of the hospitality team is a great place to start serving and there is always room on this team! The main skill needed is a genuine smile! Find out more about serving on the Hospitality Team by reaching out to us!
Children's Ministries
If smiling faces and giggly laughter of children brighten your day, you will want to serve in the Children's Ministry in our churches! We have several fun programs through which you can serve. With the safety of our children as a top priority, many positions will require a background check and the approval of our church boards. For more information on how you can get involved, contact us using the button below!
Tech Team
Our tech team members assist in the technical production of worship on Sunday mornings and during special events. Our members work as:
- Visual Content Designers create the graphics displayed before, during, and after our worship services.
- Visual Content Operators control presentation software that displays graphics, song lyrics, and sermon points on the screens.
- Video Techs operate video cameras for recording and possible live streams.
- Video Editor Techs edit and distribute our recorded worship across social media platforms and our website.
- Photographers capture special moments during our worship services and special events.
- Website Content Manager creates and maintains our website, keeping it up-to-date and relevant for our members and visitors.
- Social Media Content Creators develop posts on our Facebook page that keep our community of faith engaged throughout the week.

Music Ministries
Do you have a heart for playing music or singing? Our churches welcome anyone who is musically gifted to come and lead us in worship! All of our churches are home to a piano for more classical hymns. However, we are growing into contemporary Christian music and invite other musical instruments and vocals. We encourage anyone who is musically talented to reach out to us. Come and discover how you can use your gift to assist us in worshipping God!
Church Campus Projects
Occasionally, opportunities arise where you can serve the church as a whole. This could include helping to keep our facilities looking great, like weeding, spring cleaning, painting, remodeling or building projects, etc. We encourage you to reach out to us to see what is currently available and how you can help!
Food Pantry
New Hope Food Pantry serves the community from the basement of the New Hope Methodist Church on Wednesdays from 5 - 6:30 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9 - 11 a.m. Volunteers are welcome to come and assist with setup and distribution, as well as restocking the pantry shelves.
